Tantric Twist is a wacky musical satire of romance and sexuality in the Los Angeles Tantra scene. (Think Hair meets Sex in the City meets Full Frontal.) Ecstatic dance, cell phones, drum circles, movie deals, yoga and New Age workshops flourish in this subculture, as the 21st century intersects with ancient Tantric traditions of India. The polyamorous, super sexual powers promoted by the Americanization of this "holy" practice actually can get people in a lot of trouble, if they are not willing to go all the way in piercing the veils of their own illusions. In search of power, fame and love, the colorful ensemble of characters are full of delusions, lies and masks that are ripped away one by one, revealing the darker, deeper authenticity of their beings through the true Tantra.

In fact, Tantra is about the integration of the divine male-female, Shiva-Shakti energies within oneself, reflected with another, embracing all that is (including what we think of as very ugly, shadow sides of our beings) and how we can open through our senses to fuller self-awareness, acceptance and union with the world. Some of our characters have better luck than others making these transformations, as they are subject to rage, ridicule, revenge and laughter in this "comedy of manners."
