KIATSU - The Healing Art of Aikido with David Sonnenschein
Saturday, March 16, 2002 2-5pm Merging One Studios (formerly Yoga Mandir) 1547 6th St. (north of Colorado, park in lot across the street), Santa Monica Donation: $15 You may know me for the work (and play) I do in film, music, sound design and creative networking. I've been more private about the healing work, and now I'd like to invite you to see, hear and experience something new: Kiatsu. I've been utilizing this extremely practical form of healing since 1975 when I earned my Neurobiology degree and apprenticed with Aikido master BJ Carlisle, then began teaching in the last decade to students in Rio de Janeiro. Over the years I've either trained or received treatments in many other healing modalities (Reiki, Chiropractic, Feldenkreis, Trager, Shiatsu, Polarity, Swedish massage, Cranial Sacral, etc.) and find that Kiatsu can be a wonderful addition to all these other practices, as well as to your daily life. The big picture aims at integration of mind/body/spirit and our growth as human beings. In this first Los Angeles seminar we'll do interactive exercises where you can learn how to develop your awareness of "ki" energy (a.k.a. chi or prana) and begin to direct this for purposes of healing yourself and others. No prior experience is required to start benefiting immediately. The principles of Kiatsu are founded in the Japanese martial art of Aikido, and applied to alleviate physical conditions such as backaches, headaches, menstrual cramps, painful or dislocated joints, weak internal organs, scar tissue and circulation problems. You'll get a chance in this seminar to explore your personal inquiries and participate in how Kiatsu can help create a healthful body and life. I've written a more detailed article about Kiatsu, which you're welcome to read on my new website: http://sonicstrategies.com/kiatsu.htm. *** For those with further interest in Kiatsu, I plan to form an ongoing study group with practical sessions that will be organized to fit our schedules. For more info email dsonn@charter.net or phone 310 455-0750. Please forward this email to your friends, and hope to see you there! - David |
